2. Attend your free consultation.
At this appointment you will meet with Indiana Bankruptcy Attorney John Bymaster face-to-face. You will tell him your financial situation and John will help you come up a plan to help you get your fresh start.
3. Provide our office with some financial documents.
At your free consultation, John will help you come up with a plan to get your bankruptcy filed. That plan will include giving our office few documents and sometimes required bankruptcy fees. At the free consultation, John and the staff will make sure you know exactly what documents we will need.
4. Review and sign your bankruptcy petition.
Once our office has the documents needed, we will draft your bankruptcy petition. You will have an appointment to review and sign your bankruptcy petition.
5. Your bankruptcy is filed.
6. Go to a bankruptcy meeting.
On most cases you will only need to attend one short meeting with the Trustee to review your case and answer any questions about your case.
7. Get your discharge
Congratulations! This is what you have been waiting for! At the end of a successful bankruptcy case, the court will issue a discharge saying that your debts are discharged. Once you received the discharge, that means that you are no longer legally required to pay the debt and the creditor can no longer demand that you pay them.
